Tuscan-Umbrian Wine Pop-up Dinner

Good day all,

Pay close attention ladies and gentlemen…

I’m very excited to announce a “Pop-up” dinner next Wednesday, February 12, 2020. So excited that I can’t make up my mind of what I want to make!

Allow me to explain: Next Friday is Valentine’s Day. Who in their right mind wants to go out to dinner on Friday when it falls on Valentine’s Day? Yep, the only people out are rookies, there will not be one person I know in the Bistro next Friday except for our staff. It will be insanely busy, a prix fix menu, no matter where you decide to go. Smart money goes out before or after St. Valentine’s Day. SO….

Thus the “Pop-Up”. The cuisine will be a blend of Tuscan and Umbrian cuisine. The two provinces in Italy that sit adjacent to each other and their cuisines couldn’t be more different. Bridget and I have traveled with friends and family, numerous times to these regions, so I’ve called my butchers, my purveyors and I’m headed down to the Bronx the “Arthur Avenue” section to get some goodies.

The idea behind the cuisine is being driven by some wine I was able to procure that was #29 on Wine Spectator’s Top 100 for 2019 from Tuscany and some Umbrian wines from our cellar that are drinking beautifully right now. Bridget and I want to share our cellar with you!
